Person-Centred & Psychospiritual Psychotherapy

“Daniel enabled me to start facing the shame that had been sapping my confidence for most of my life.
With great gentleness, he opened up the space in which I could begin that difficult work. He was sensitive to when I was ready to take the next step and when I needed to pull back. He was the perfect therapist to accompany me on my journey. I can recommend him without reservation.”

I work collaboratively with my clients, following your lead, gently sharing my moment-to-moment understanding of what might be going on for you, being alongside you in your process of understanding and lived experiences.

I believe our human experience is rich and complex.
Therefore the expression of how we live and survive and all the intersectional phenomena we bring are to be respected, trusted  and understood, as much as possible, within an empathic, contactful awareness.

I follow your experience from a non-pathological understanding, whilst acknowledging the common ways we have come to understand and communicate our mental health and the many forms of emotional distress and trauma we can experience.

My work is therefore centred around attending to the whole person, with equal respect for both content and process, both feeling and thinking… the being part of ourselves and creating a therapeutic space for the becoming part.

I am particularly mindful of how systems and intersections of identity and/or culture can impact upon our lives and our relating and incorporate this as a founding principle of my work as a white, able bodied, cis gendered, queer male therapist.

My psycho-spiritual approach integrates the practices of person centred, Buddhist psychology and Dharma and felt sense somatics’ to create a broader and dynamic way of working together, that equally values the psychological and spiritual experiences and perspectives you may encounter along the way in understanding and experiencing yourself more fully.

Working Together

If we work together, we will do so collaboratively and what you choose what to bring will guide the focus of our work together each week.

Relationship Therapy
I am trained by CICS (contemporary institute of clinical sexology) to work with both couples and multi-partnered people. I work with a range of relationship challenges and difficulties including but not limited to opening up relationships, boundary ruptures and other relational and communication difficulties.
Sessions are online and are conducted with all partners present.
These sessions are 65 minutes long.

1-1 Therapy
The ways I approach working with all my clients are similar whether with individuals or couples and multi-partnered. As a therapist, what I offer you is authentic contact and relational healing, actively alongside you in your experience, supporting and facilitating your explorations and encounters, whatever they may be, wherever they may lead us. These sessions are 55 minutes long.

In all cases, it is my understanding that the change process or process of healing is commonly not a straight line progression. Over time, building a reliable, creative and trusting therapeutic relationship provides a space in which a deep healing can occur for the individual or the relational unit where more intuitive self-awareness can be cultivated for all those engaged in the process.
